Welcome the website of the Slovenian Linux user group!
About us
LUGOS was formed in 1997 as a non-profit society with the goal to promote Linux and free software and to organize and support Linux and free software users in Slovenia.
Our activities
From its founding onward, LUGOS cooperated with and provided support for various groups and individuals active in the free and open source software (FOSS) movement:
- Organization and support for various local FOSS events, ranging from installation parties in the early days, free software presentations, release parties and IT conferences, up to the yearly “free code picnic” (Piknik odprte kode – POK).
- Support for independent localization teams to translate software and documentation to Slovenian.
- In 2013 we helped the independent hackerspace Kiberpipa/Cyberpipe and work together with them since.
- LUGOS is a founding member of the national network of non-governmental organizations for an inclusive information society (Network NVO-VID, Slovene: Mreža NVO-VID).
